MANILA, Philippines – A total of 200 teams in four age divisions for males and three age divisions for females joined the fourth consecutive staging of NBA 3X Philippines presented by Sprite at the SM Mall of Asia and the PICC from July 4 to 6.
Since the staging of the first ever NBA 3X Philippines presented by Sprite in 2011, the number of participating teams has grown steadily through the years – 112 teams in 2011, 128 in 2012, 192 in 2013 and 200 in 2014.

NBA players DeMar DeRozan, who led his Toronto Raptors team to their first Playoffs appearance since 2007, and Wesley Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers interact with fans during the three-day event. There are also authentic NBA half-time shows featuring performances by the Toronto Dance Pak and lovable antics by Sacramento Kings mascot, the energetic Slamson the Lion. NBA merchandise giveaways and live music keep fans entertained, and entry to watch the tournament and soak in the festivities is free of charge.
On Saturday, DeRozan will conduct a Sprite Basketball Clinic at 1 p.m., followed by the KFC Bucket Shootout, and the Phoenix Fast Feet Challenge at 5 p.m.

Among the highlight of the tournament are a celebrity division on Sunday, July 6, at 10 a.m. featuring local stars Derek Ramsey, Aljur Abrenica, Rovilson Fernandez, Jay-R, Fabio Ide, Bobby Yan, Marco Alcaraz, Ervic Vijandre, Luis Alandy, Eric Tai, Will Devaughn, Joross Gamboa, Robin Da Roza, Vince Hizon, and media personalities like TJ Manotoc of ABS-CBN, Mark Zambrano of GMA, Jinno Rufino of Solar Entertainment, and others. There will also be an NBA Cares activity where DeMar DeRozan will spend some time with athletes of the Special Olympics. The much-awaited Sprite Slam Dunk competition takes place at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, those who did not get to register for NBA3X this year can still be part of the action. Mall goers and the whole family can join games and fun competitions on the court. They can come down and register for the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest and various skills challenges and win cool prizes from the NBA! Registration will be on site.
